Since 2025, the @bapscharities Spirit of Service Walk/Run has expanded into Skokie, alongside our longtime Bartlett Walk. This year, the Skokie walk welcomed 750 participants to support the local community! The Spirit of Service grows when a community is welcomed with open arms. Mayor Ann Tennes joined us at the Walk, in which she saw the impact the Walk has on the community. This event is more than just bringing people together, rather it brings neighbors together to support those in the time of need. A beneficiary of the 2026 @bapscharities Spirit of Service Walk/Run in Chicago was @TheHarbour_ . At this year's Walk, Grants & Donor Relations Manager Mary Burke-Peterson spoke about how overwhelming it was to see so many individuals turn out — not just to offer support, but to help bring awareness to its work. The Spirit of Service often is as simple as people choosing to show up. Sometimes the most meaningful gift is not only resources, but being seen. What a day to honor the Spirit of Service! 🏃‍♂️👟 The BAPS Charities Walk & Run 2026 brought over 2,000 participants together across the Chicagoland area. We walked and ran together to support great causes! Thousands of participants. Two events. One mission of the #SpiritOfService. Every individual who showed up supported BAPS Charities and this year's incredible local beneficiaries: ❤️ @peoplesresourcecenter ❤️ @theharbour The Walk also kicked-off our #America250 celebrations - from the National Anthem to the group photo.
