Every year, during the summer vacation for children, the Bal Pravrutti Central Office organizes the Bal Vikas Parva. The initiative is designed to help children productively use their vacation time. It provides them an opportunity to develop their confidence, leadership and communication skills, teamwork, and creativity.
This year, the 11-day Bal Vikas Parva was conducted at over 8519 bal and balika mandals throughout India, in which over 13377 balaks and 13443 balikas participated.
As part of the program, the children underwent two days of training in public speaking, communication, arts and crafts, poster-making. Also, value-based presentations developed their sense of responsibility and guided them on practicing positive family values.
They then participated in a nine-day outreach campaign titled ‘Adarsh Parivar Abhiyan’ (Ideal Family Campaign). Working in 4,829 teams, 26,820 children visited more than 128,000 families in their local communities and shared five simple yet powerful values for building happier and stronger families:
  • Family prayer and spiritual reflection
  • Eating at least one meal together
  • Respecting and serving elders
  • Speaking with kindness and understanding
  • Conducting a daily family assembly (Ghar Sabha)
Through this campaign, the families actively engaged in meaningful conversations about family harmony and communication, mutual respect, and shared values.
The Bal Vikas Parva serves as a powerful platform for child development and empowers them to become confident ambassadors of positive values within their communities.
